Today, we reached an important milestone in the COMPAS project.
The preliminary test of the integrated die, featuring a photodiode monolithically integrated on the photonics waveguide platform, was successful.
In this first evaluation, we tested a straight waveguide with an integrated photodiode (see picture attached). The measured response was as follows:
- Laser OFF → PD = 0.000 nA
- Laser ON (light guided through the waveguide) → PD = 1.6 µA.
These results confirm a fully functional photodiode- waveguide integration.
